Tu-tu-trains, dump tucks & loo-lees

Someone told us (your papa and me) last week that the tipping point for speech occurs when you have mastered a vocabularly of 50 words.

We reckon you past that point sometime during Chinese New Year. You can say quite a lot now and have a knack at mixing nouns & action words together to form 2-word phrases that work to your advantage. [Examples: Mummy up!, Mummy 'bao'/carry!, Mummy downstairs!, Mummy out!, Mummy there! Bingyang walk walk...]

Sometimes, out of the blue, you'd make your observations known to us, declaring that the "Ant walk walk" along the rim of the flower pots and that the "Fish jump!" out of the water in the pond which, amuses us totally.

Sometimes, like this morning, you simply just melt our hearts by saying "Ah tong! Mor-ning!, Mummy, Morning!".

Language - everyone uses it, but not everyone knows how to paint a picture with words or win wars with them. A picture paints a thousand words they say. The pen is mightier than the sword they also say. Baby, take the study of language seriously and learn how to use it well. Human history is influenced more by the written word than by warfare, the ability to paint a picture well with words is your conduit for self expression.

For now, just enjoy the swings in the playground and your Yeye's massage chair with your cousin.
